As many will already know, I have been active on a new platform: NaNoWriMo. It’s been somewhat challenging getting to know the people on there, but it turns out that has given me more time and – strangely – more motivation to write.
The first draft of the new poetry book is complete and revisions are almost finished! This is where I began to run into some trouble. Once I reached my goal, I began having some anxiety concerning the next step; to polish the manuscript and put it out into the world. I was also finding it difficult to decide whether or not to include two additional poems (both brand-new) that went with the theme of this volume but were equally suited to the next. Then, there was the issue of eventually wanting to move away from Amazon altogether.
After a recent breakthrough, I have chosen to leave the manuscript as-is and begin publication through Amazon. I need to spend more time working on my long-term goals but am happy with what I’ve accomplished so far. Unlike Ocean, I won’t be able to provide much advance notice of the release date this time. However, I will post an announcement here on T.W.N. shortly before the book comes out.
As for the novel, it has progressed wonderfully! The first half of the chapters are edited, and I’m approaching the 40,000-word count milestone. This means I am nearly halfway through the total word count. For the past several weeks, I’ve gotten a lot done – though a small family crisis has interrupted my rhythm.
