Once upon a time, a dream began in a place of water and air.
And into this dream, they placed a thought –
And the thought was that love was there.
There was life up above and life down beneath,
And the winds churned ‘round and ‘round –
But into this space they put a light,
And the light made a perfect sound.
Then a rainbow appeared coming out of the light
And spread to the furthest place.
The colors would dim and the brighten again
As they filled every inch of the space.
Then someone appeared with a dance and a song
And a flame that was almost as bright.
And they told a great lie as they smiled and sighed
And bent those little rainbows of light.
Then the air turned to black and the water to red
As the lie made them feel so alone –
But the light chose to stay, and its color was bright
As it guided its rainbows back home.
Then the lie went away, having served its purpose,
But it left a small gift for the light –
And that gift was a mirror, made of darkness, trimmed with gold
So it could tell darkness from what was bright.
Then things were made right, but wiser this time,
And the rainbows all gathered as one –
And then all was light, the light much too bright,
And the world gave a laugh and was done.
Ideas were recorded and discussions were had
About the truth of the lesson that day.
And, as always, wisdom reigned supreme
And confusion gently faded away.
Then, suddenly, a dream began in a place of water and air.
And into this dream, they placed a thought –
And the thought was that love was there.
