“The Challenging Reality: Wool and Ethics”

Latest installment in the mini series “The Challenging Reality” has been posted to S.D.!

Superlative Deviation: Life With Meaning, Life With Joy

One of the topics I’ve been learning about recently has been the use of wool in the fabric industry. Generally, we as vegans tend to be very much against this practice and advocate for plant-based textiles made from hemp, organic cotton, recycled fibers, etc. as replacements for animal-derived fibers. However, I’ve discovered there are some interesting points people often overlook.

This might not apply to everyone. I’m speaking strictly from personal experience. Over the years, I’ve found that staying away from wool has become an incentive to purchase cheaper, fast fashion items made from synthetics that are almost always derived from (you guessed it) plastic. Plastic, as previously mentioned, will be shed into the environment sooner or later, regardless of what form it takes. Lately there has been a shift in the fashion industry to produce more “vegan” and “vegan-friendly” clothing. However, like synthetic leather, many of the products I’m…

Brief Update and Personal Post

On Superlative Deviation.

Superlative Deviation: Life With Meaning, Life With Joy

Recently it’s been crazy here. My family has endured some unexpected issues and demolition in our home, but things are much more quiet now. I hope to be able to post a little more regularly soon. I apologize for not posting new content as promised, but life happens. Isn’t it great!

As previously mentioned, new updates on my writing projects are being posted on T.W.N. A new one will be out this coming Tuesday. I also plan to post one or two fun things to S.D. on the same day. As the days get a little hectic, I’m trying to get organized again. I have made several changes to the running of the blog and my author site which should help greatly. You might also notice some editing of my bio and other information, as well.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope everyone is doing well.

“To Those Who Harm the Children” – Poetry

Revelations made public Entering every home Tidings of swift retribution Utterly inescapable Riches turn to dust before them Naked truth given voice   Three times the debt repaid Only the pure left standing   Some balance finally restored Even the shadows disown you Neatly fulfilling the prophecy Disintegration of glamor Ends the age of terror… Continue reading “To Those Who Harm the Children” – Poetry

Lit. Update: “Hello, Chapter Thirteen!”

Superlative Deviation: Life With Meaning, Life With Joy

Today, I completed what I’ve decided will be the end of chapter twelve. The further I go into re-writing the ending to my novel, the more different this draft becomes. Now I’m beginning lucky chapter thirteen! Will it be the finale? I’m not sure. At the moment, I have to play it by ear – let the story go where it need to go and end when it needs to end. There might be a fourteenth chapter, but I don’t see many more after that. After a rough week, it’s nice to have some good news.

Lit. and Personal Update: “Chapter Twelve and Fighting For the Goals”

Superlative Deviation: Life With Meaning, Life With Joy

Hello, people! I’m so glad to be back with some personal posts and literary updates. So much has happened lately, I hardly know where to begin.

First of all, I hope everyone is safe and secure this holiday season. Please take the time to draw closer to family and bring back some of the innocence and magic that this time of year used to bring. Remember: it’s not the holiday that’s changed; it’s the values many have adopted. Be the change you wish to see. As Alura says – heaven gives you the light, but you have to care for it. If you’re honestly doing your best, they will help you. If you need to connect with like-minded people and find some good support and love, please feel free to check out Alura’s group on her site. Believe me, we all have our bad days. That’s doesn’t matter, though, because…
