Edits and Typos
Has anyone else gone back over their author copy and thought, “How could I have missed that?” I’m talking about silly things such as typos and whole words that somehow slipped through the editing process. Well, that recently happened to me.
While compiling a list of pieces from Ocean that will be featured on my YouTube channel, I discovered several inaccuracies that should have been corrected before its release. Thankfully, this was an easy problem to fix. The changes to the manuscript were minor enough that I don’t have to issue a second edition (according to Amazon publishing guidelines).
As of September 7th, anyone purchasing a copy of The Ocean’s Made For Swimming will receive the new version with the modified text. No poems were removed or radically altered. All content remains the same, but small typographical changes will appear.
Youtube Content Preview
At the moment, I am planning two YouTube series. The first, of course, is spoken word. This will feature poetry selections from my first two books. All content under this heading will have a dark screen and no artwork in the thumbnail, at least for now.
The second series will consist of book review/book talk videos. Here I’ll be sharing sample chapters from my own current and future novels, as well as thoughts and sample chapters from other authors’ work that I enjoy. I’ll be showing my face in these videos and will probably film in the main room of our home.
My content will be simple, down-to-earth, unrehearsed, and – as promised – completely AI-free. I’m debating whether or not to do an intro video for the channel, partly because I’m not sure what to say. How necessary is an introduction video for this type of channel? Let me know your thoughts in the “Community” section here.
